Beginning on January 1, 2022, Brazil will cease accepting ATA Carnets. There will no longer be a Brazilian national guaranteeing association responsible for the collection of amounts owed in the case of non-compliance with ATA Carnet conditions. Valid ATA Carnets issued prior to the cessation order and currently in circulation may NOT be presented to Brazil after 12/31/2021 as BR customs will reject entry even if the green carnet cover has BR listed among the countries.
