In an era where digital transformation is not just a buzzword but a necessity, Roanoke, in collaboration with Rock-it Global, has taken a monumental step forward. We are thrilled to announce our participation in the issuance of the first electronic ATA Carnet, also known as the e-ATA Carnet. This groundbreaking achievement, conducted in partnership with the United States Council for International Business (USCIB) and Rock-it Global, marks a significant milestone in the evolution of international trade and logistics.

The e-ATA Carnet represents the digital future of international trade facilitation. As a digital alternative to the traditional paper carnet, it simplifies the process for temporary exports and imports, making it faster, more secure, and environmentally friendly. This innovation is particularly crucial for time-sensitive shipments, where efficiency and reliability are paramount.

Rock-it Global, a trusted client of Roanoke, played a pivotal role in this process, participating actively in the planning, testing, and successful execution of the first e-ATA Carnet issuance. This collaboration underscores our shared vision of leveraging technology to streamline trade processes and enhance customer experiences.

The inaugural use of the e-ATA Carnet facilitated a time-critical hand-carry shipment for the TPi Magazine Award Ceremony. This event not only showcased the practical benefits of the e-ATA Carnet but also demonstrated our ability to lead and innovate in the face of complex logistical challenges.

It’s important to note that the e-ATA Carnet is still in the testing and planning phase. Full availability in all ports is anticipated to take at least a year. This phased approach ensures that the system is robust, secure, and ready to meet the diverse needs of international traders and logistics providers.

Stay tuned for more shipment details and exciting announcements as we continue to pave the way for a digital future in international trade. At Roanoke, we’re not just keeping pace with innovation; we’re setting the pace!

ATA Carnet Post-Brexit Guidance

Brexit and the ATA Carnet Brexit, the departure of the United Kingdom (UK) from the European Union (EU), has been in the news for years now, and finally in the new year, it has come to pass. For concerned logistics service providers and shippers, this change will not have a significant impact on US ATA Carnet users who export to both the UK and the EU.  US ATA Carnet users who send goods on ATA Carnet to multiple countries are accustomed to the need for white counterfoils for every country entrance and exit. That will be the basic process now […]

No ATA Carnets to Brazil in the New Year

Beginning on January 1, 2022, Brazil will cease accepting ATA Carnets. There will no longer be a Brazilian national guaranteeing association responsible for the collection of amounts owed in the case of non-compliance with ATA Carnet conditions. Valid ATA Carnets issued prior to the cessation order and currently in circulation may NOT be presented to Brazil after 12/31/2021 as BR customs will reject entry even if the green carnet cover has BR listed among the countries. Goods admitted into Brazil prior to 12/31/2021 will remain in temporary admission status, and in case of the loss or destruction of an existing […]
