Roanoke Trade Contributes to Milestone Number of ATA Carnets Issued in 2016

As of May 1, 2022, Vietnam has become the seventy-ninth member country to accept ATA Carnets for the temporary, duty-and tax-free importation of various types of goods, per an announcement provided by the United States Council for International Business (USCIB).   We have great news for the trade community! USCIB has informed Roanoke that the suspension of ATA Carnets to Brazil has been lifted. Effective immediately, new and replacement carnets can be issued for temporary imports to Brazil.   The ICC World Chamber Federation, the organization that administers the ATA Carnet system, has released two country-specific operational changes relating to the usage of the ATA Carnet. Italy Inland Customs ports in Italy will no longer be using the re-exportation vouchers and counterfoils to clear temporary exports leaving inland ports. The Customs officers will require blue transit vouchers and counterfoils according to articles no. 70 and no. 91 of the Italian Customs’ instructions.
