We have important news to share with you. Karen Groff, President of Roanoke Insurance Group, has decided to leave the organization. Although our hearts are heavy with this news, we respect her decision and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

Karen played an integral role in Roanoke’s success over the past 30 years and solidified “The Roanoke Way” during her tenure as President. In her own words, Karen shares:

“I will always treasure my time spent with Roanoke colleagues, clients and partners. The strong engagement and sense of community shared in this industry have been a constant inspiration to me, and they drove my passion for this work. Thank you to all who have supported me during my time at Roanoke and for your partnership and friendship over the years!”

A passionate ambassador for our organization, Karen was a familiar face at countless industry events and, on occasion, was known to lead her team in song and dance. Karen actively participated on several association boards, lending her time and expertise to contribute to the success of these vital organizations. It’s impossible to summarize the breadth of her career in this brief message. Her impact on employees, clients, and industry partners was remarkable, and all will miss her.

John Hennessy, President & CEO MRSGNA, will assume leadership responsibilities for Roanoke on an interim basis. We are working to determine who is the best candidate to fill this leadership role permanently. Please rest assured that we are all committed to ensuring a smooth transition. Karen will be contributing whatever time necessary to support these efforts.

We want to take this opportunity to thank Karen for her leadership and stewardship of Roanoke for nearly six years as President and for her thirty year career with us. In her long and accomplished tenure at Roanoke, Karen dedicated herself to growing and advancing the company, developing our client-focused culture, and enhancing our standing in the industry. She leaves an important legacy to be proud of, and we wish her all the best on her continuing journey.

Thank you all for your continued support and business, and please join us in sending Karen off with best wishes and congratulations!

Many of these accidents and fatalities are attributed to drivers engaging in risky behavior such as cell phone use, eating/drinking, reaching for an object, talking to a passenger or reading GPS. Not wearing seatbelts, speeding and use of alcohol makes these accidents much worse. Additionally, the stressors of the pandemic, returning to work, and other social factors have increased the cognitive distraction […]
